SALES POLICY

Our chinchillas are sold on a first come, first serve basis but we reserve the right to refuse a sale at our discretion in an effort to place our chinchillas in the homes best suited to care for them properly. In order for me to reserve a chinchilla until weaned, or until pickup can be arranged and carried out, I require a 50% non-refundable deposit. The only circumstances under which I am obligated to refund the deposit are if the sale is canceled on my end, or if the chinchilla becomes ill or dies while in my care. My holding the deposit guarantees that the chinchilla will not be sold to any other person UNLESS the buyer backs out of the sale or ‘disappears’ (defined as the buyer failing to show up for a scheduled pickup, or the buyer's failure to arrange pickup within the agreed upon time frame without prompt communication). Should the buyer ‘disappear’, I will send notification via telephone or e-mail stating that he/she has 1 week to contact me before the deposit is forfeit and I again list the animal for sale.

HEALTH GUARANTEE:

We expend great effort and expense to keep our herd in excellent health and condition, and to ensure genetic soundness in the animals we sell. In fact, we spend far more on purchasing and maintaining our breeding animals than we have ever gotten back. This is our hobby and passion; not a business venture. We take great care in where we purchase our own chinchillas from and we follow strict quarantine procedures for all new animals coming in to ensure we do not introduce any diseases into our herd. We will never sell a chinchilla that we see any sign of illness in.

We will handle any complaints of sudden illness or death within 7 days of purchase or any complaints of genetic diseases which manifest prior to 1 1/2 years of age on a case-by-case basis and will always do our best to assist and guide you, but our general policy is that we will not guarantee our animals against illness, accidental death, or injury once they have left these premises as there is no way for us to know what they are exposed to in your home, what injuries they may have sustained, how they were handled, or the care they received. Many instances of sudden illness or death can be directly linked to the chinchilla being handled improperly, being housed in an unsafe cage, being given inappropriate foods/treats/accessories, and simply not being given time and space to properly acclimate to the new environment, resulting in extreme stress. This is why it is crucial for you, as the buyer, to fully educate yourself on the care requirements and proper handling of your new chinchilla BEFORE you bring him or her home with you. We do not offer refunds after the chinchilla has left our home and we are not responsible for any veterinarian expenses. This is a responsibility that every pet owner inherently takes on, just as we take this on for every animal that we bring into our own home. On a case-by-case basis we may offer a replacement animal if we feel it is warranted and are confident that the buyer was not negligent.  We do require you to read and acknowledge the information provided on our care sheet and you will be given an opportunity to look over and observe the health and condition of the chinchilla you are purchasing before you take him or her home. We are always available to answer any questions or concerns and would prefer that you come to us directly or get a second opinion from another reputable breeder rather than relying on Google, info from books or pet stores, or even info from most veterinarians as they often do not provide accurate information on these exotic animals.

With each chinchilla that is purchased, I include at least a two-week supply of food as well as a pedigree and lifelong after-sale support. I encourage my customers to keep in touch with me and to feel free to ask any questions they may have before or after the sale.

I reserve the right to refuse or cancel a sale at my discretion at any time while the chinchilla is still in my care.

I am always willing to take in any chinchilla that was bred here or sold by us if at any time in the future you are unable to keep him/her. We do not refund anything in these instances; therse are treated as a "rescue" meaning we will assess the animal's health and rehabilitate him or her if needed with the goal of adopting out to a suitable home.

If you have any questions about our policies, please feel free to reach out to us.
